"SmartTool" is a system for the Augmented Reality of Haptics, which is composed of a sensor and a haptic display.

This system could enhance human haptic sensation. For example, this system can enlarge the roughness of the surface by measuring it. In other case, this system can generate virtual wall around the egg yolk not to damage it by measuring the difference of the color between egg yolk and egg white.

The typical application of this system is task-supporting system in medical field. We can assume restricted area in human body then generate repulsive force from the area. Therefore, the system could prevent the human from damaging the area. We are now researching on this medical application.
